Multiplier event at Locodeni

 
In the frame of the Eco-Motive project, Civitas Foundation from Odorheiu Secuiesc organizes a course in the topic of propagation and grafting of fruit trees. The place of the event is Locodeni where in partnership with LIA Foundation will be developed a traditional orchards on ecological principles.

„Székelygyümölcs” was presented in Ukraine

1-3 April in Antalovici (Ukraine) took place the 4th Workshop for regional development in Carpatian basin. The workshop was organized by CESCI (Central European Service for Cross-border Initiatives). The main theme was: Local value, local and regional development based on local value.

For a more humane and sustainable future

Organized by Civitas Foundation for Civil Society and the Székelygyümölcs Association, The Fruit Festival of Odorhei had twice many visitors as the previous edition.

Civitas Foundation launched several initiatives to preserve the natural resources of the Odorhei Region.

1-3 April in Antalovici (Ukraine) took place the 4th Workshop for regional development in Carpatian basin. The workshop was organized by CESCI (Central European Service for Cross-border Initiatives). The main theme was: Local value, local and regional development based on local value. Almost sixty participants from different part of Carpathian Basin had an opportunity to know interesting initiatives. Between these there were presented by István Már, project coordinator the Fruits of traditions project implemented by Civitas Foundation.

The workshop started with presentation of different financial projects focused on regional development in Carpathian Basin. In this way there were presented the Hungarian Government financial project for Hungarian communities outside of borders; the new Carpathian Basin regional development program of National Economy Ministry; and also the ENPI CBC Hungary-Slovakia-Ukraine-Romania program.

These presentations were followed by success stories related to the main theme of the workshop. From Transylvania was presented the „Legendarium” also. The Rural Development Ministry of Hungary started a valorous initiative for supporting by good legislation the local products and small-scale farming.

Participants had the opportunity to know a lot of interesting initiatives like:

  • organic community development model from Oszkó (Hungaria);
  • the local rural tourism program from Subotica (Serbia);
  • valorification of traditions by a viable museum in Ipoly region (Slovakia);
  • renewing „local people” an initiative from Ormánság (Ungaria);
  • how the regional development is combined with development of tourism in Ukraine.

The next workshop will take place in Slovakia in 2012.
